ForumBot gives your XenForo forum a private 1:1 chat for registered members, trained on your community's own content. Members ask questions, explore your forum's subject matter, and get grounded answers without having to post publicly.
It's a managed service. The free addon handles the in-forum experience, and your subscription covers the AI backend, an agent prompt engineered for your forum, and ongoing improvements.

Get a LicenseThese are the ways ForumBot serves your community: private knowledge uplift in chat, admin-driven content in threads, and contextual help available on every post in your forum.
Your forum gets an onsite AI chat page. Members type questions and get answers grounded in your community's content. Guests are prompted to register or log in.
Staff tag your bot by name in any post. It reads the thread context, consults your knowledge base, and replies automatically in real time.
A small icon appears on every post. Clicking it takes the user to the 1:1 chat room, where the bot reads that post plus prior context and explains it, summarizes it, or answers questions about it (i.e., "explain this post").
Members save personal context (setup, gear, goals, or background) and opt-in per chat to attach it to questions. The bot grounds its answers in their saved details instead of producing generic responses.
Each member fills in a personal "Project Info" document (up to 1,500 characters) describing their situation: tank setup, gear list, current project, area of focus, or any context they want the bot to know.
A "Use Project Info" toggle in the chat panel lets the member decide when to attach their saved context. Starts off each session; Clear chat resets it too. No stale context bleeding into unrelated questions.
Two-layer permission gating (master option plus per-user permission) lets you enable Project Info only for the usergroups that should have access. Typical patterns: admins, mods, and paid tiers. An optional coaching field lets you guide members on what to include.
ForumBot is a managed service. You install the free addon, subscribe at forumbot.net, and receive a license key. That key is all you enter in AdminCP.
Free download from the XenForo Resource Manager.
Subscribe via Stripe, then work with us to provision your account (e.g., content ingestion and agent definition using our XenForo-ready template).
Enter your license key, create a bot user account, and enable the features you want. Remember to set usergroup permissions for access (AI chat features are not available to guests).
The license key is the only credential your forum ever needs, unlocking your forum's AI services powered by Xpertloop.ai through Deep Intuition LLC.
Every ForumBot subscription includes optional knowledge base ingestion. We work with you to populate your bot's KB from your existing content. There are three optional CSV file types:
Each is optional. A simple agent with no KB submission still works fine off the system prompt alone; KBs are the stronger solution when you want the agent grounded in your own content. You provide the exports, we handle the upload and configuration on the backend.
Most AI addons require a separate account with OpenAI, Anthropic, or another provider, typically $20-50+/month on top of the addon cost. ForumBot is all-in.
$40/month. Cancel anytime. The addon is free to download. The subscription is billed separately via Stripe at forumbot.net.
TONMO.com has run this AI stack since 2025, consistently accurate on a 25-year archive of cephalopod knowledge. Request demo credentials, email support@forumbot.net, or just join TONMO.
"I found this tool yesterday, and just want to give a big thank you to everyone that put this together! For someone trying to learn this makes it so much easier to find what I'm looking for. So far the responses have been excellent, or leading me to previous threads to read more." link
"I love the Octobot AI on this site! It has really helped with any questions I've had regarding octo care... I'm sure some members with actual experience keeping octos will chime in with advice and help you out!" link
I've run TONMO, a cephalopod community, since 2000. ForumBot is the AI stack that runs there, now packaged as a XenForo addon. Deep Intuition LLC operates the service. For questions, email support@forumbot.net or message @tonmo on XenForo.
No. ForumBot is fully managed. Your subscription covers the AI backend. No API keys, no provider accounts.
After subscribing, we work with you to ingest your forum content (or instructions, articles, documents, etc.) into your bot's knowledge base and to customize your agent. You provide an export, we handle the upload and config on the backend.
Chat logs are stored locally in your XenForo database, visible only to your admins via AdminCP. Neither Deep Intuition LLC nor Xpertloop has access to them. Queries are processed by the AI backend in real time and not retained.
Yes. ForumBot integrates with XenForo's permission system. You decide which user groups can access the chat page, and @tag is restricted to admins or admins and moderators.
When you enable chat sharing in AdminCP, members get a "Share chat" link in the chat panel that creates a public read-only snapshot URL of their conversation, valid for 5 days. Members manage and delete their own active shares from a sidebar link; admins review and remove all active shares from AdminCP > Logs > Shared chats. Sharing is off by default.
Disabling immediately stops new shares from being created and the "Share chat" button disappears for members. Access to existing share URLs is paused while sharing is disabled; re-enabling restores access until each share's 5-day window expires. Admins can also remove active shares anytime from AdminCP > Logs > Shared chats.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period. The addon remains installed, but the bot stops responding without an active license.
Yes. ForumBot is a standard XenForo addon. No server-level access required. Download the free addon here.
